5 Reasons you need an SEO specialist

  1.  That Works:

SEO will never be useless. Every single person uses a search engine to run their searches. If you never optimized your website for search engines, there is no reason to have a website. It just has no difference from a word document sitting on your computer and waiting for you to open it. To have a website that does something for you, SEO needs to be done. You may need an SEO specialist if you cannot figure out the very complicated progress of search engines on your own.

  2. It is Dirt Cheap:

As long as you are not looking at anything crazy that jumps your website from nowhere to the first page in a short time, keeps it over there, and also generates your sales or leads, you can just pay a small amount of money to your SEO person to keep you visible. This increase will be slow but stronger than the one you spend too much money on to be up top in a short time.

  3. High Market Share:

Nowadays, the biggest shareholders in the market are search engines and social media platforms. Google is the king of the kingdom and has rules that you need to follow if you want to keep your existence. Google also changes these rules often. You may need an SEO specialist to follow these and update your website every time Google comes up with a new one.

  4. Improves the Quality and the Brand Awareness:

As we mentioned before, search engines have rules and even though they are hard to optimize, they are good in the long term. Some of these rules are; being mobile-friendly, fast load speed, easy to load images, no junk coding, etc. These are what your visitors looking for for a better experience on your website. Improving these also improves brand awareness of your brand. This is where an SEO specialist comes in handy because search engines are very strict with their rules. They only prize or penalize your efforts. There is no middle. If you get penalized by search engines, they may not display your website on SERPs (search engine result pages) anymore.

  5. Because Everybody Does:

Your competitors are doing it either in a professional or non-professional way. Either way, they are a step ahead of you. If they are working with an SEO specialist, they may be more visible than you and naturally sell their product or services to your potential customers. That is true, you are losing a lot of money while trying to save some. There is no saving in the digital marketing field anymore. The more you spend, the more you get but only if you do it right. That is why I keep repeating that you need a professional SEO specialist. Professional SEO specialists may cost you some money but their ROI is way higher than you can imagine.

ROI (return on investment) on SEO Specialist

When you invest in SEO, your first expectation is to have a return. The expectations of SEO specialists are more or less the same, they expect all the arrangements they plan to return as targeted traffic transformation.

Search engine-optimized websites will receive visitors soon but generating sales with search engine optimization may take a little time and lots of effort. Let’s say you have an e-Commerce website with 100 products. These product pages are optimized for search engines and receive visitors but do not generate any sales. Yes, that is also a possibility. Especially for an e-commerce website, the targeted audience needs to be well-determined for every single product page. It’s not done, an SEO specialist also needs to work on people to make them revisit the store or other product pages in the store. SEO is an ongoing progress. You should never stop optimizing your pages.

The real ROI in SEO is bringing first-time visitors in. A good SEO specialist can make people surf your page to reduce the bounce rate but this is part of web design and web development. If the created logic and other website factors are not right, an SEO specialist can bring visitors but may not keep them on the website. Depends on how good/bad is the logic of the website. That’s why we always recommend creating a connection between your web designer and SEO specialist is a better idea. The best idea is to have them in the same agency.

What do Search Engines want?

Simply, they want to serve better to their visitors. We all want that right? Think like Google is a big corporation and you are a contractor serving their customers. Would they place their rules over your company’s rules? -Yes, they cannot push you to do it but they don’t have to work with you if you don’t accept their terms & conditions. So, search engines want you to follow their rules but what are their rules?

This part is a little tricky because they have a lot of rules and rules in the rules. More than that, there is always someone doing that more recently or better than you did. That is why we feel like we need to repeat this; ” Search engine optimization is an ongoing progress. You should never stop optimizing.” It is a race. You cannot stop. Let’s make a small list of the things that search engines looking for;

  • Loading Speed (one of the most important):

    • You can check your web speed and the list of things that need to be done by visiting GtMetrix and typing your URL.
    • Loading speed is a very important part of search engine optimization. Making everything perfect to increase page load speed may be harder than the total of all other optimizations. You may also need programming knowledge. In this case, you may need an SEO specialist to do the work for you.  Schedule an Appointment.
  • Backlinks

    • Backlinks are the links that are words in other reliable websites and linked to your website. Like we just created one for GtMetrix.
    • Backlinks are the topic of off-site SEO. You can read our other articles to learn more about SEO types.
  • Search Volume of the Selected Keywords

    • Keywords are the words that people use to make their searches. That is an important part of SEO.
    • Finding a keyword sounds easy, right? Let’s call it this way, finding the right keywords. Keyword research is also something you need an SEO specialist to do research for you.
  • Optimized Title Tag and meta description

    • In the sample, it shows the proper way to have a “Title Tag” and “Meta Description”
  • Page Headers

    • You probably heard people talking about H1, H2, H3 headers… If you didn’t, they are the headers and sub-headers on your webpage and yes, they also need to be customized for search engines.
  • URL

    • The address of your website. Unfortunately, if you made the wrong choice, it will affect your ranking.
  • Amount of Word

    • The amount of words on every single page is important. You had to have at least 300 words with non-repeating sentences but recently Google thought 300 words is easy to reach and not competitive enough to display the best results. The level of all websites started being the same and they moved that from 300 to 1,600 words for every single page. So more content means better ranking.
  • On-Page Links

    • Google also wants you to have an inbound and an outbound link on every page. Just keep it in mind; having some links is nice but having too many links also fails you. Better keep it in balance.
  • Headings

    • Did you know you have to have an “h1” tag as a header and, “h2, h3, h4, h5…” as sub-headers? Sometimes, the headers’ size won’t look right with the page structure, but if you have to, you have to. You can always go into CSS and change the size, color, and style of your headers. You just have to make sure they are tagged correctly in the code panel. Otherwise, do not even dream about the first page. Your headers also need to contain your keyword but again no more, no less. It needs to be very well-balanced.
  • Not very important but Robots.txt

    • Robots.txt is a topic of technical SEO. Most CMS Systems make that automatically for you but you always need to go check that in person to see if everything is looking good. Robots.txt is the permission page for nice bots like GoogleBot. If they are not welcomed, they leave without indexing your website.
    • Robots.txt cannot block spam bots because they are programmed not to listen to your orders. So it does not help from a safety point.
  • AMP

    • It is also important for SEO. Especially for mobile devices but it is not something you can optimize so we will not talk about it here. You just need to know that it is about the mobile version of your website. It is the faster version of your mobile site. We will talk more about AMP in the other article.
  • SSL Certificate

    • Again it has nothing to do with search engine optimization but it is something you must have to be indexed by GoogleBot. Especially in some countries like The USA, Google is very strict about this rule. You can get an estimate for your SSL Certificate installation.

Can You Trust an SEO Specialist?

First, SEO is not a gamble, but it’s a game. It is something you need to keep playing. It is not a gamble because you need to work hard to gain something. But are you sure after all those hard work and long hours, you will be the first in search results? No, if somebody or a company tells you they can take you to the top of the search results, that is a lie, leave that place. That means they are not using competitive keywords. Let me explain; “web design” is a highly competitive keyword and “mffhrr” is a made-up word that can take you to the first place if you make a search for it but who would search for it?

Freelancers or SEO Agencies

We will not tell you not to work with a freelancer. Even though they are mostly doing a great job, there are also some fake freelancers. if you see value in a freelancer, go for it. This business may be way cheaper than the SEO agencies charge you because of the business costs and risk factors. But most freelancers are not professionals. if you need to change/fix something or are not satisfied with the service, a freelancer may not be there for after-sale service. This is the worst-case scenario and also applies to some agencies. The best way is by checking your SEO specialists’ knowledge first.
